Bitesize guide to Mangalore

Mangalore is famous for its stunning backwaters, rolling hills and coconut palms swaying delicately in the summer breeze. Mangalore was once much fought over by colonisers as an important Port. Its cuisine is well known for its distinct flavour and is heavily influenced by its South Indian heritage. This delightfully fragrant curry, traditionally cooked with mackerel and served with rice, is the staple dish of the region.
